The Phi Sigma Sigma Foundation is proud to fund educational opportunities for the Fraternity’s members, leadership programming, and offer scholarships and educational grants, directly benefitting our collegiate and alumnae sisters. Through the support of generous donors like you, we are able to provide vital programming opportunities for today's members - the next generation of leaders!

MENTAL HEALTH FIRST AID

Understanding the challenges our members may face during their time in college, we believe it is important to empower identified chapter officers to have more confidence in knowing how to support the sisters they care about. Mental Health First Aid is offered to chapter leaders who have high touch points with members to learn to recognize signs and symptoms of mental health challenges and understand how and when to check in with sisters who may be experiencing a challenge to provide support and refer them to resources.

Mental Health First Aid is a skills-based training developed by the National Council for Mental Wellbeing to teach participants how to assist someone experiencing a mental health or substance use-related crisis. The course also teaches about recovery and resilience - the belief that individuals experiencing these challenges can and do get better and use their strengths to stay well.

GALLUP® CLIFTONSTRENGTHS

In early 2024, Phi Sigma Sigma launched a partnership with Gallup® that enables us to provide the CliftonStrengths Assessment and facilitate workshops to different groups to support leadership training. The assessment force ranks each individual’s strengths, identifying the underlying qualities that energize us. It’s different from other psychometric tools because it is focused on your energy and your potential and is based on the idea of growth mindset.

CliftonStrengths is an assessment used in a wide variety of settings. Many campus leadership development or career services offices use this assessment. This is also used in corporations and businesses as a tool to build positive working cultures.

EMERGING LEADER PROGRAM

The Emerging Leader Program is a multi-dimensional leadership program for first-year members that guides participants through personal exploration and helps hone leadership skills. Participation in the Emerging Leader program includes:

  • Attendance at a three-day in-person Emerging Leader gathering

  • Assigned alumna leadership mentor

  • Virtual Emerging Leader cohort activities to develop personal leadership trajectory within the chapter and campus community

VIRTUAL LEADERSHIP DEVELOPMENT & TRAINING

Executive board officers and new members benefit from access to Reach, our online learning management system. Reach is our intuitive online learning platform which is home to all of Phi Sigma Sigma's educational modules and online leadership courses.

SCHOLARSHIPS & EDUCATIONAL GRANTS

Through our annual scholarship program, Phi Sigma Sigma Foundation is able to give thousands of dollars worth of scholarship and grant money to collegians and alumnae each year. These scholarships and grants help off-set the cost of tuition, alleviating some of the financial burden of continuing education enabling sisters to focus on their studies. Learn more about our scholarship program, here.

"By participating in Phi Sigma Sigma's Emerging Leader Program I have been able to gain confidence in myself and my leadership abilities. Within the first year of joining my chapter I got elected as the Vice Archon, this would not have been possible without the help of Phi Sigma Sigma's Emerging Leader Program. The mentors who lead the program helped me learn how to lead with confidence, problem solve, communicate with different personality styles, have resilience, gave tips on how to help my sisters become the best version of themselves, and so much more. This is an experience that has impacted my journey as a leader."
