Phi Sigma Sigma Sells HQ Office Space

Phi Sigma Sigma, Inc. is pleased to share that we have closed on the sale of our Headquarters office spaces at 8178 Lark Brown Road in Elkridge, Maryland. We have been re-evaluating our office space needs, and the current COVID-19 pandemic allowed us to transition our full staff to remote making this opportunity possible. We remain committed to being thoughtful stewards of the Fraternity’s finances and ensuring the Fraternity’s perpetuity for future generations of sisters.

“As thoughtful stewards of the Fraternity’s finances, we felt it was in the best interests of Phi Sigma Sigma to move forward with the opportunity to sell and reallocate our resources, especially at a time when we are not able to utilize this space,” said Grand Archon Katie Vlietstra Wonnenberg. “We remain committed and passionate about ensuring a premiere membership experience yesterday, today and tomorrow.”

Phi Sigma Sigma Headquarters moved to Elkridge, Maryland in 2004 and in 2014 we acquired two additional suites, one of which has been consistently leased out to a tenant.

In 2016, Phi Sigma Sigma underwent an organizational restructuring, moving the chapter services team to remote work. Over the past four years, we have improved our remote work structure and seen a significant increase in staff retention.

In March 2020, as a direct response to COVID-19, we transitioned our office-based staff to remote work prioritize their health and safety. This provided us with an opportunity to further re-evaluate our office structure and office needs.

“Over the past several years, the board has continuously evaluated our staff structure and our current office space needs. Following the transition to a fully remote staff this spring, we recognized this as an opportunity to down-size by selling our current office space,” said Executive Director Michelle Ardern. “We are thankful for the memories we’ve made over the past 16 years in Elkridge, Maryland and look forward to this next chapter in Phi Sig’s history.”

Phi Sigma Sigma will maintain Suite 202 through December 2020. Moving forward, correspondence for Phi Sigma Sigma, the NHC and the Foundation can be sent to the new Headquarters address:

At this time, Headquarters staff will continue to work remotely. We have relocated our archives and set up a temporary office space at a Phi Sigma Sigma property. We will continue to re-evaluate the need for additional physical space as needed.
