National Housing Corporation Purchases House at the University of Rhode Island
We are pleased to share that the Phi Sigma Sigma National Housing Corporation (NHC) has closed on the purchase of 29 Lower College Road in Kingston, Rhode Island. This purchase provides a permanent Phi Sigma Sigma facility for the Gamma Zeta Chapter at the University of Rhode Island.
"We are excited to add the University of Rhode Island to our portfolio of NHC-owned facilities," said Erin Sweeney, President of the NHC. "29 Lower College Road was the first home for our Gamma Zeta Chapter when it was reestablished in 1992. As a permanent home for our chapter, this purchase allows us to continue to provide a gracious living experience in a place that so many sisters have fondly called home."
For the past 29 years, the NHC has rented, managed and maintained a variety of different locations at the University of Rhode Island. In fall of 2020, we returned to the current location at 29 Lower College Road.
The Gamma Zeta Chapter house features both single and double bedrooms, chef-prepared meals, cable television and full-time housekeeping. High-speed internet is generously provided by the Phi Sigma Sigma Foundation, optimizing access to online and hybrid learning. Currently, 36 sisters live in the house.
In the near future, we hope you will join us for an open house to celebrate this milestone for the Gamma Zeta Chapter and the NHC!
