What did it mean to receive this award?
I received two awards for volunteering, which meant so much to me. Volunteering is about giving back to an organization and its membership that gave me so much. Sometimes volunteering and working in higher education comes with a lot of thankless work, so to be recognized for my work and volunteering brought me so much joy.
How Phi Sigma Sigma has impacted you?
Without Phi Sigma Sigma, I would not be the woman I am today. Phi Sigma Sigma has impacted me in profound ways. From allowing me to use my skills and voice as a leader to bringing me a sisterhood not just within my local chapter but throughout the entire country as a volunteer, to allowing me to focus on the ways, I give back my time and talent. Phi Sigma Sigma truly helps me strive to continue being a woman of substance, character, and influence every day of my life.
How has receipt of a Phi Sigma Sigma award impacted your continued volunteerism/leadership within the Fraternity?
By being the recipient of these awards, it helps me feel valued and supported by my fellow volunteers and membership. It reinvigorates my desire and love for Phi Sigma Sigma every time.
Phi Sigma Sigma's annual awards program recognizes individuals and chapters who most embody the virtues of Phi Sigma Sigma and continue to "Aim High" throughout their collegiate and alumnae experiences.
