How Phi Sigma Sigma has impacted you?
The obvious answer would be the lasting relationships that I have made both as a collegiate and an alumna. I also feel a sense of pride for being part of an organization that values women and that actively works to mentor them throughout all levels of membership.
What did it mean to receive this award?
As an alumnae volunteer, I have worked through some unique and challenging situations, but I always saw what I was doing as work that needed to be done. Getting recognized for my efforts was humbling, as I realized what an impact those efforts have made on both a local and National level.
How has receipt of a Phi Sigma Sigma award impacted your continued volunteerism/leadership within the Fraternity?
Receiving the Outstanding Advisory Board Member Award has validated the fact that my efforts make a difference to those I work with which inspires me to continue my efforts. It also gives me pause and allows me to consider other ways I could get involved.
Phi Sigma Sigma's annual awards program recognizes individuals and chapters who most embody the virtues of Phi Sigma Sigma and continue to "Aim High" throughout their collegiate and alumnae experiences.
